Barbra Streisand’s former UES home tops Manhattan’s luxury contracts
Barbra Streisand’s former Upper East Side townhouse snagged the priciest signed contract in Manhattan last week. The mansion at 49 East 80th Street, asking $16 million, was the most expensive of 22 homes in the borough asking $4 million or more to land inked deals between Aug. 18 and Aug. 24, according to Olshan Realty’s weekly report. The total was on par with the previous period, which logged 23 pending deals. Streisand paid $420,000 for the 9,200-square-foot home in 1970.
